Cavite Service Caravan brings free health, jobs, legal aid to Silang residents
SILANG, Cavite — The provincial government brought free medical care, employment assistance, legal aid, and other public services to residents here on April 30 as part of the second leg of the Cavite Service Caravan, held at Cavite State University’s Silang Campus.
Governor Abeng Remulla led the one-stop service event, which drew participation from provincial offices, national government agencies, and partner organizations. The caravan follows a first leg held in Ternate.
Health services offered included free medical and dental consultations, laboratory tests such as ECG and fasting blood sugar screenings, pharmacy assistance, and fluoride varnish application for children.
A job fair and employment matching activities were conducted alongside booths from the Social Security System, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fund, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, the Philippine Statistics Authority, and the Department of Trade and Industry. Career coaching sessions covered resume writing, interview skills, and anti-illegal recruitment awareness.
Agricultural services provided farmers and fisherfolk with vegetable seeds, seedlings, and informational materials. Social services included counseling, family planning assistance, and free legal consultations.
Persons with disabilities had access to wheelchair provision, hearing tests, and PWD ID application support. Pet owners could avail of free veterinary consultations, anti-rabies vaccinations, and deworming services.
Digital literacy programs and free internet connectivity were also available on-site.
Vice Governor Ram Revilla Bautista, 5th District Representative Roy Loyola, and board members Aidel Paul Belamide and Ivee Jayne Reyes joined the governor at the event. Silang Mayor Edward Carranza welcomed the delegation.
The provincial government said it plans to continue rolling out the caravan across other municipalities in the province.
