KAWIT, Cavite – Philippine police arrested a suspected drug dealer in an anti-narcotics operation late Wednesday, officials said Thursday, in a fresh blow to illegal drug activity in Kawit, Cavite.
The suspect, known only as “Paul”, was apprehended in a buy-bust operation at around 10:45 PM in the Manggahan-Lawin neighborhood of Kawit, Cavite, according to a statement from Kawit Municipal Police Station.
Police said the suspect was caught selling a small heat-sealed sachet containing suspected methamphetamine, locally known as “shabu”.
The operation was conducted by the station’s Drugs Enforcement Unit and Intel Operatives, under the supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel Richard D. Corpuz, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 4A (PDEA-4A).
“The arrested suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and was brought to Kawit Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition,” the statement said.
Police warned the public against engaging in illegal drugs, vowing to continue their campaign against all forms of criminality.
