CAVITE LEADS CALABARZON IN ECONOMIC GROWTH, EXPANDS 6.7% IN 2025
CAVITE, Philippines — Cavite posted the fastest economic growth among the provinces in the Calabarzon region in 2025, with its gross domestic product (GDP) expanding by 6.7%, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
The province’s GDP rose to P875.67 billion in 2025 from P820.76 billion in 2024, an increase of P54.91 billion, based on the PSA’s 2025 Provincial Product Accounts.
The growth highlighted Cavite’s economic performance within Calabarzon, which comprises Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon provinces.
GDP measures the total value of goods and services produced within an area’s economy over a given period. The PSA’s provincial accounts provide a measure of economic activity at the local level.
Cavite’s 6.7% growth rate placed it ahead of the other provinces in Calabarzon, highlighting its contribution to the region’s economic activity.
However, GDP growth alone does not indicate whether the gains translated into higher household incomes, more jobs or improved living conditions for residents.
The PSA’s provincial economic data provide a basis for comparing economic performance across provinces and helping local governments identify development priorities.
Cavite’s per capita GDP reached P181,561 in 2025, up 4.6% from the previous year, according to the PSA.
Among the province’s industries, human health and social work activities recorded the fastest growth at 15.5%, followed by public administration and defense, including compulsory social security, at 10.5%. Other services grew by 8.7%.
The Provincial Product Accounts provide economic data that local governments, national agencies and private-sector stakeholders can use to assess local performance and formulate evidence-based development policies.
The GDP estimates are measured at constant 2018 prices, allowing comparisons of economic output over time while accounting for changes in prices.
The PSA’s 2025 provincial economic accounts offer a snapshot of how provinces performed during the year and their contributions to the broader regional economy.
