CALABARZON, Philippines — Police Regional Office 4A (PRO 4A) awarded Police Lt. Col. Archimedes L. Baking of the General Trias City Police Station the Medalya ng Kadakilaan (Distinguished Service Medal) for bravery, competence and dedication to duty.
Baking received the medal during the Joint Monday Flag-Raising Ceremony at the PRO 4A grandstand. Regional Director Brig. Gen. Dominic L. Baccay led the ceremony, which was hosted by the Philippine National Police Training Institute under Maj. Gen. Roy B. Parena.
Also honored were Police Maj. Jenefer N. Atienza, who received the Medalya ng Kagalingan (Medal of Excellence), and Police Col. Jonathan L. Chy, who received the Medalya ng Pagkilala (Medal of Commendation). The Regional Plans and Strategy Management Division received the Perpetual Trophy “7S.”
PRO 4A said the awards recognize personnel and units that showed exceptional performance, courage and commitment to public service.
The recognition is part of the B.E.S.T. Policing Framework, particularly its “Serve Together” principle, and is anchored on the Philippine National Police chief’s Focused Agenda, especially its emphasis on personnel morale and welfare, the command said.
Before the ceremony, officials conducted personnel accounting and a ranks inspection to ensure discipline, proper bearing and accountability, including strict enforcement of the “Tamang Bihis” (proper attire) policy.
PRO 4A said the recognition of Baking underscores the importance of police officers who serve as models of courage, discipline and honest service to the public.
