CAVITE – Philippine authorities arrested a woman in Cavite province on Friday on five counts of estafa (fraud) for allegedly selling fake land titles to more than 30 victims across Metro Manila and the CALABARZON region, local police said.

The suspect, identified as Jane Rocell Aprao, was identified as the number one most wanted person in Cavite province and the sixth most wanted in the CALABARZON region last year, according to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Cavite.

Authorities warned the public to be cautious of individuals offering land titles at suspiciously low prices, noting this as a common modus operandi for fraudsters in the province.
