TANZA, Cavite — A man was rescued unharmed after climbing an electric post in Barangay Calibuyo here in an apparent suicide attempt following a dispute with his wife Sunday night, July 26, 2026, authorities said.
Police said the man remained atop the post for several hours before responding authorities were able to bring him down safely.
According to reports, the man climbed the post after an argument with his wife. Residents who witnessed the incident tried to talk him down and dissuade him from harming himself, while alerting authorities.
Responding rescuers and police negotiated with the man for several hours before he came down safely.
Authorities said the man reportedly became emotional and distressed over a personal problem.
