BACOOR City, Cavite — A security guard was found shot dead inside a private company compound along General Aguinaldo Highway late Tuesday, March 31, 2026 with authorities identifying a fellow guard as the suspect and launching a hot pursuit operation.
The victim was identified as Joebe Yongco y Codoy, a security guard and resident of Agusan del Sur. His body was discovered inside the Kali Marketing Trailer Truck Fabrication Private Company in Barangay Zapote 3.
Police received a 911 call reporting a lifeless body at the scene at around 9 p.m. and arrived minutes later at 9:03 p.m., according to the Bacoor Component City Police Station.
Initial investigation indicated that the victim and the suspect, identified only by the alias “Wilson,” were both security guards at the same establishment and had reportedly been engaged in a heated argument before the shooting.
A witness identified as “Eric” told police he heard a gunshot at around 6:45 p.m. and shortly after saw the suspect calmly walking out of the compound in the direction of Zapote.
Authorities have since launched a hot pursuit operation to locate Wilson. Police have also requested assistance from the Cavite Provincial Forensic Unit to conduct a thorough investigation.
The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
