BACOOR CITY, Cavite — Mayor Strike B. Revilla has ordered the City Engineering Office to conduct a thorough investigation into a Maynilad pipe burst in the Southvale and St. Jude subdivisions in Molino, Bacoor, which caused widespread flooding that reached neck-deep in some areas.
The investigation aims to determine the cause of the pipe burst and whether any lapses or violations occurred in connection with the incident.
The city government will also meet with Maynilad officials and homeowners association leaders to discuss the extent of the damage and Maynilad’s possible liability.
The city said that if the investigation finds Maynilad negligent, it will take appropriate action in accordance with existing laws and regulations, including the possible revocation of its permit.
Maynilad could also be required to pay for damage caused by the incident, following established legal processes.
Revilla said the city government is prepared to act once the facts are established and technical assessments are complete.
Clearing operations in the area were ongoing as of this report.
