NOVELETA, Cavite — Authorities arrested two men and seized an estimated ₱150 million worth of alleged fake and unregistered products during a raid at a warehouse in an industrial complex here on the night of March 24.

The operation, conducted around 7 p.m. at the DC Industrial Complex in Barangay San Rafael IV, was led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group’s Cavite Provincial Field Unit in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry, the Philippine National Police Maritime Group, and the Noveleta Police.

The suspects were identified as a Chinese national known by the alias “Li” and a Filipino man using the alias “Bran.” According to investigators, the two were caught in possession of and exercising control over bulk quantities of shoes, cosmetics, electronic gadgets, and other merchandise that authorities said did not meet legal standards.

Investigators said that while the business was registered with the DTI, the products being sold and stored were not registered—a violation of the Consumer Act of the Philippines and the Internet Transactions Act.

CIDG Director Police Maj. Gen. Robert Morico II said the operation was crucial to protecting the public from hazardous and defective goods.

“We will not allow consumers to be deceived and their health and safety to be put at risk,” Morico said.

He added that the successful operation was part of an intensified campaign by the Philippine National Police under PNP Chief Police Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. against illegal activities in the country.

The CIDG also commended operatives in Cavite for intercepting the products, which officials said could have spread in the market had they not been acted upon promptly.

The agency called on the public to immediately report any suspicious storage or sale of products in their communities.

The suspects face corresponding charges as investigators continue to look into the origin of the seized goods.
