TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — The 12th Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Cavite convened its inaugural session on Monday, signaling a renewed commitment to innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity in provincial governance.

Presided over by Vice Governor Ramon Vicente “Ram” Bautista, the session was attended by Governor Francisco Gabriel “Abeng” Remulla, 1st District Rep. Jolo Revilla, all board members, and key department heads of the provincial government.

During the organizational meeting, 3rd District Board Member Arnel “Ony” Cantimbuhan was elected Presiding Officer Pro Tempore, while 2nd District Board Member Alde Joselito Pagulayan was named Majority Floor Leader. Committee chairs were also appointed, ensuring the board is fully equipped to tackle legislative priorities across key sectors.

In his address, Governor Remulla expressed gratitude to Caviteños for their continued trust and outlined his administration’s priorities, including tourism, agriculture, youth and sports development, education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

“Today’s challenges are more complex and require bold, innovative action,” Remulla said. “We are ushering in a new generation of leaders—leaders who listen and act decisively.”

Vice Governor Bautista echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the board’s commitment to participatory and responsive governance.

“Our Sangguniang Panlalawigan will be inclusive and will give voice to the marginalized,” Bautista said. “This is a Sanggunian that listens, shares values, and stands for every Caviteño.”

The session marked the official start of a citizen-centered approach to provincial governance, with leaders pledging collaborative and forward-thinking legislative work.
