ROSARIO, Cavite — A tricycle driver recently discovered a newborn baby girl inside his vehicle, local authorities reported.
According to the driver, Mac Leonardo Dela Cruz, also known as “Braullo,” he began his route around 3:00 AM, waiting for passengers at the CCAT corner.
Around 4:00 AM, Dela Cruz noticed a woman wearing a yellow T-shirt and pink jogging pants, carrying a bag and appearing distressed. She reportedly entered a tricycle with a curtain.
Hours later, Dela Cruz checked inside the tricycle and was shocked to find a crying newborn. He immediately took the baby to Rosario Maternity & Medical Emergency Clinic (RMMEC) for initial medical attention.
The newborn weighed 5.94 lbs and had a birthmark on her right shoulder.
Meanwhile, Rosario Vice Mayor Bamm Gonzales provided medicines, milk, clothes, and diapers for the baby.
The infant was turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as authorities continue their investigation.
