SILANG, Cavite — Andrea Layugan, a third-year nursing student at Emilio Aguinaldo College, is being commended for quickly coming to the aid of a person injured in an accident near Silang Central School.
A concerned citizen who witnessed the incident said Layugan immediately approached and assisted the injured victim while waiting for an ambulance to arrive. The ambulance arrived about 10 minutes later and took over care of the victim.
No other injuries were reported in the incident.
Layugan’s quick response drew praise as an example of compassion, preparedness and willingness to help others in an emergency, and served as a reminder to the public to remain alert and cautious, particularly in areas near schools.
