Kawit police said Friday they had arrested a suspected drug trafficker in a sting operation.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “BL”, was taken into custody on Thursday at 8:30 pm in Barangay Toclong, Kawit, Cavite, after allegedly selling a small sachet of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine) to undercover agents.
The operation was conducted by the Kawit Municipal Police Station’s Drugs Enforcement Unit and Intel Operatives, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-4A, under the supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel Richard D. Corpuz.
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and was brought to the Kawit Municipal Police Station for further investigation and processing.
The Philippine government has been waging a war on drugs since 2016, with thousands of people killed in the crackdown.
