Bible Month Celebration Unveils Spiritual Unity in Cavite

TAGAYTAY CITY, CAVITE – The province of Cavite celebrated the National Bible Awareness Month with a grand event that showcased the spiritual unity and diversity of its people on January 27, 2024, at the iconic Praying Hands in Tagaytay City,

Attended by over 300 participants from various local government units and religious groups in the province, the event was spearheaded by the Office of the Provincial Vice Governor under the leadership of Hon. Athena Briana Tolentino, who also led the lighting of candles ceremony, symbolizing the spread of light and knowledge, featuring the collaboration of the Office of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, which enacted Provincial Ordinance No. 419 Series of 2023, institutionalizing the annual celebration of Bible Month every January of every year.

Aimed at celebrating the significance of the Bible in the lives of the Caviteños, as well as to foster connections within the community and strengthen people’s faith through meaningful activities, the program commenced with a soul-stirring opening prayer led by Bishop Felipe Lazada of Cavite for Jesus Movement, setting a deeply spiritual tone for the gathering. Hon. Irene P. Bencito, extended a warm welcome remark, emphasizing the vital role of such events in promoting harmony and unity among the people.

The attendees were also inspired by the messages and prayers of Rev. Reuben M. Abante, Secretary General of the BIBLE MODE, and Pastor Robert Ramirez of the Philippine Bible Society, who both underlined the importance of embracing Christ and his teachings. They also encouraged the participants to read various scriptures simultaneously, as well as to take an oath to uphold the Bible as the sole foundation for God’s words and the faith of the people.

Heightened by the soul-stirring Trumpet Sound performed by the Tagaytay City Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as by a poignant Moment of Silence that allowed the attendees to reflect and contemplate the profound significance of the Bible in their lives, the event concluded with closing remarks delivered by Rev. Bernie Fontabla, Senior Pastor of Faith Center Tagaytay, who expressed gratitude for the shared spiritual experience and underscored the importance of the Bible in fostering a strong and united community.

The event was a testament to the spiritual unity and diversity of the province of Cavite, as well as to the commitment of its leaders and people to celebrate the Bible and its teachings. The event also served as a reminder of the blessings and guidance that the Bible brings to the lives of the Caviteños, especially in these challenging times.
