CAVITE — Kerby Salazar, representative of Cavite’s 6th District, has been elected national president of the National Movement of Young Legislators, drawing support from fellow youth lawmakers across the country.
Salazar, known as an active and industrious legislator, has championed programs benefiting the youth and his constituents in Cavite. His election to the NMYL’s top post was backed by young leaders from provinces and cities nationwide, who cited his dedication and advocacy for meaningful youth participation in government.
As national president, Salazar is expected to lead initiatives aimed at strengthening ties among young legislators throughout the Philippines. He has identified education, livelihood, digital innovation and good governance as priorities under his leadership.
Supporters in Cavite welcomed his election, calling it an honor not only for the 6th District but for the entire province.
Salazar’s allies said his victory signals a broader message: that today’s youth are not merely the country’s future leaders, but active shapers of the Philippines’ present.
