TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — Two police officers saved a man’s life after performing CPR during an emergency transport to a hospital, authorities said.
PCpl. Daryl Cañete and Pat. Kim Jasper Alarca of the Trece Martires Component City Police Station were on routine patrol in Barangay San Agustin when they encountered two men seeking help.
One man was struggling to breathe and complaining of severe chest pain.
The officers immediately began transporting the man to the nearest hospital. En route, his condition deteriorated — he turned pale and lost consciousness.
The officers pulled over, assessed his condition and began cardiopulmonary resuscitation. They continued CPR until the patient’s pulse returned.
With his vital signs restored, the officers resumed transport and delivered him to the hospital, where medical staff provided additional treatment.
The incident occurred during a routine patrol, though authorities did not specify when.
