KAWIT, Cavite — Police arrested a suspected drug dealer during a buy-bust operation Friday night in Barangay Tramo-bantayan, authorities said.
The suspect, identified only as “Chard,” was apprehended around 9:20 p.m. after allegedly selling shabu to an undercover officer.
Officers from the Kawit Municipal Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the operation in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 4A.
Police recovered one small plastic sachet containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu.
The suspect was informed of his rights under the Miranda Doctrine and transported to the Kawit police station for processing, according to Police Lt. Col. Socrates S. Jaca, officer-in-charge.
Authorities said the arrest is part of ongoing anti-crime efforts in the community.
The suspect faces charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
