IMUS CITY, Cavite — Cavite police, led by Acting Provincial Director Police Col. Dwight E. Alegre, participated in the destruction of an estimated P5.32 billion worth of illegal drugs and substances during a government-led activity held Tuesday in Trece Martires City.

The operation, conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), took place at the Integrated Waste Management, Inc. facility in Barangay Aguado. The event forms part of the government’s ongoing campaign against illegal drugs.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez delivered the welcome remarks and introduced the guest of honor and keynote speaker, Dangerous Drugs Board Chairperson Secretary Oscar F. Valenzuela, who affirmed the government’s commitment to combating the proliferation of illegal drugs in the country.

Also present was Police Brig. Gen. Benjamin D.L. Sembrano, director of the PNP Forensic Group, who expressed full support for the lawful and secure destruction of drug-related evidence.

“This activity demonstrates the government’s and police force’s serious commitment to eradicating the drug menace in our communities,” said Alegre, reaffirming his support for PDEA and the Dangerous Drugs Board.

The event showed the strengthened collaboration among government agencies in the fight against illegal drugs, in pursuit of a safer and more orderly society.
