TANZA, Cavite – A village council member was fatally shot Sunday in Barangay Bagtas, Tanza, Cavite province, police said.

The victim was identified as Christopher Aron, who served on the barangay council.

According to police reports, Aron was inside his multi-purpose vehicle when two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle approached and shot him four times.

Family members and village security personnel rushed him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the identities of the suspects and their motive for the attack.
