Domestic workers in the CALABARZON region will soon receive higher wages after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) IV-A approved Wage Order No. RB-IV-A-DW-05.
Under the new wage order, the monthly minimum salary for domestic workers in cities and first-class municipalities will increase from ₱6,000 to ₱6,750.
Meanwhile, those in other municipalities, who previously earned ₱5,000 per month, will also receive ₱6,750.
The wage adjustment, set to take effect on March 7, 2025, aims to improve the living conditions of household workers in the region, which includes the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon.
The RTWPB IV-A, composed of representatives from labor, management, and government sectors, conducted consultations and deliberations before finalizing the new rates.
The wage hike aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure fair compensation and social protection for domestic workers, who play a crucial role in many households across the country.
