Governor Athena Tolentino has visited families affected by severe tropical storm Kristine in the town of Ternate, Cavite, to oversee the distribution of emergency food packs and assess the situation at evacuation centres.
According to initial reports from the Emergency Operations Centre, at least 3,933 families, comprising 13,981 individuals, have been affected by the storm across various cities and municipalities in Cavite, with the majority residing in coastal and flood-prone areas.
The provincial government is working closely with local government units to monitor the situation on the ground and coordinate relief efforts.
As communication channels are restored, the number of affected families is expected to rise.
Governor Tolentino has reassured residents that the provincial government is working tirelessly to ensure their safety and well-being.
The governor’s visit to the affected areas comes as part of the provincial government’s efforts to provide support and assistance to those impacted by the storm.
