Philippine police arrested 15 wanted individuals, including a regional-level most wanted person, in a daily manhunt operation in Cavite province, authorities said Saturday.
The Cavite Provincial Police Office (PPO) said the arrests were made on Friday, with the Cavite Component City Police Station apprehending a suspect known as “Rod”, who is wanted for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Other notable arrests included “Aiko Nava”, a provincial-level most wanted person, who was taken into custody by the Dasmariñas Component City Police Station for qualified trafficking in persons.
The Silang Municipal Police Station also arrested “Atan”, a provincial-level most wanted person, for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while the Bacoor Component City Police Station apprehended “Mirio” for frustrated murder.
The Imus Component City Police Station arrested “Lauro”, a city-level most wanted person, for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and the General Trias Component City Police Station took into custody “Jerwin”, a municipal-level most wanted person, for robbery hold-up.
Nine other wanted individuals were also arrested across the province, the Cavite PPO said.
Provincial Director PCOL Eleuterio Ricardo Jr. praised the efforts of the police and the public in bringing the fugitives to justice.
“Our campaign against those who hide from the law will continue, thanks to the active cooperation of the people of Cavite, so that we can give justice to the victims,” he said.
The arrests were part of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) ongoing efforts to crack down on crime and bring fugitives to justice.
