KAWIT, Cavite, June 29, 2024 – A suspected drug dealer was arrested in a police operation in Kawit, a municipality in Cavite province, local authorities reported Saturday.
The suspect, identified only as “Veronica,” was apprehended on June 27 during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Kawit Municipal Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Richard D. Corpuz, Chief of Police, the operation took place around 10:15 PM in Barangay Magdalo-Potol. The suspect was caught selling a small plastic sachet containing what is believed to be methamphetamine, locally known as “shabu.”
The arrest is part of an intensified campaign against rampant crime and illegal drugs in Kawit. Authorities stated that the suspect has been informed of her rights and is currently in custody for further investigation.
Local police vowed to continue their efforts against criminal activities, particularly drug-related offenses, in line with the national government’s anti-drug campaign.
