BACOOR CITY, Cavite — A Nigerian national and a Filipino businessman were arrested after Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents seized an estimated ₱3.4 million worth of suspected methamphetamine in a buy-bust operation here early Friday, July 17, 2026, authorities said.

PDEA said the operation followed surveillance and validation efforts targeting the suspects, who were allegedly involved in selling illegal drugs. The two were arrested immediately after the transaction tested positive as a buy-bust.

Agents recovered about 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine with an estimated street value of ₱3.4 million, PDEA said. Authorities also confiscated cellphones, identification cards, ATM and cash cards, an e-wallet card, a pawnshop card, a wallet and other items that will undergo further examination as possible evidence.

The suspects are in PDEA custody while authorities prepare documents and evidence to file charges. They face charges under Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, in connection with the illegal sale and possession of dangerous drugs.

PDEA renewed its appeal to the public to report suspicious activity linked to illegal drugs to help strengthen the campaign against drug trafficking syndicates in the country.
