CAVITE ECO-PARK IS PHILIPPINES’ SOLE ENTRY ON TIME’S 2026 WORLD’S GREATEST PLACES LIST
GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite — A bamboo eco-tourism sanctuary in Cavite has been named to Time magazine’s World’s Greatest Places 2026 list, becoming the only Philippine destination to make this year’s roster of 100 sites worldwide.
Kaway’an EcoPark, located in Barangay Panungyanan in this city, was selected from hundreds of nominations curated by Time’s international network of correspondents and contributors.
The park features bamboo-built structures and landscaping that blend sustainable architecture with immersive eco-tourism experiences, drawing visitors with its environmentally conscious design.
Time’s annual list recognizes destinations worldwide that offer exceptional experiences, innovation, and cultural significance.
Tourism officials said the recognition underscores the potential of eco-tourism and sustainable travel development in the Philippines beyond its well-known beach destinations.
Kaway’an EcoPark promotes green architecture, environmental conservation, and responsible tourism centered on bamboo, a material the park has helped reposition as a medium for world-class sustainable design.
