ALFONSO, Cavite — The municipal government here has launched “DOC on Wheels,” a home-visit medical program designed to bring doctors directly to residents who are unable to travel to hospitals or health centers.
Under the program, physicians visit patients at their homes to conduct check-ups, provide medical advice, and administer immediate treatment when necessary. Local officials said the initiative was aimed primarily at bedridden patients, senior citizens, and individuals with serious conditions that prevent them from seeking care at health facilities.
The municipal government said the program was intended to make health services more inclusive and accessible, particularly for residents in underserved areas. Officials said it also reduced delays in treatment and lowered transportation costs for families.
Alfonso is a rural town in the upland portion of Cavite, where hilly terrain and distance from urban centers can make access to medical facilities difficult for some residents.
Local officials said they expected more residents to benefit from the program as its implementation continued.
