CAVITE, Philippines — Authorities in Cavite have issued a public advisory warning against acts of violence linked to the electoral process, underscoring the threat such incidents pose to the integrity of elections.

In a statement released by the Cavite Police Provincial Office, residents were cautioned about violent activities that may disrupt the environment, behavior, and flow of any election process. These acts include abduction, murder, physical assault, intimidation, and other actions resulting in death, injury, or property damage.

The advisory explained that election-related violent incidents (ERVIs) could occur at various stages of the electoral period. These include the pre-election phase or registration period, campaign season, election day, vote counting and canvassing, and the proclamation of winners.

The police urged the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious or violent activity, emphasizing that maintaining peace and order is crucial in upholding democracy.

The advisory forms part of the Philippine National Police’s ongoing campaign for safe and credible elections in Cavite.

Residents are also encouraged to use the PRO CALABARZON’s P.O.W.E.R. Services App or contact the Cavite PNP directly via [email protected] for further reports or inquiries.
