KAWIT, Cavite — The Provincial Government of Cavite distributed essential relief packages, including rice and canned goods, to 1,812 Kawit residents affected by the Bataan oil spill. The distribution took place at Freedom Park, with local officials and Sangguniang Bayan members from the Municipality of Kawit participating in the event.

The relief effort showcased the strength and unity of the community as local officials worked alongside provincial representatives to provide much-needed assistance. The oil spill, which has caused significant environmental and economic damage, has left many residents in urgent need of support.

The relief effort in Kawit is initiated by the Provincial Government of Cavite and the DSWD.

Governor Jonvic Remulla emphasized the importance of community solidarity during times of crisis. “Our priority is to ensure that our residents receive the help they need. This distribution is just the beginning of our ongoing efforts to support those affected by the oil spill,” Remulla said.

The relief packages, containing rice, canned goods, and other essential items, were distributed to families who have been directly impacted by the environmental disaster. Residents expressed appreciation for the timely assistance, noting that it provided immediate relief amid the challenges they are facing.

The Bataan oil spill has raised concerns about environmental safety and the impact on local livelihoods. Efforts to clean up the spill and mitigate its effects are ongoing, with both government and private sectors involved in the response.
