BACOOR, Cavite — The Social Security System (SSS) Bacoor Branch has issued warnings to 10 employers who failed to remit Php2.82 million pesos in contributions and penalties for their employees, officials said Thursday.
The action is part of the agency’s Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) campaign.
Josephine S. Hipolito, head of SSS Bacoor, said the non-remittance deprives employees of benefits and loan privileges.
“They need to address this immediately to avoid disqualifying their employees from SSS benefits,” Hipolito said.
Employers have been given 15 days to contact SSS and settle their accounts. Failure to do so will result in criminal charges under Republic Act No. 11199.
During a press briefing, Hipolito reported that SSS has already collected 29.51 million pesos from two employers visited during RACE operations. The remaining eight employers have not complied and may face legal action.
