GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite – Construction of SM City General Trias, one of the largest malls planned by SM Prime Holdings (SM.PS) in the region, is progressing two years after its groundbreaking, with the developer targeting an opening in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The mall is expected to generate thousands of jobs for residents of General Trias and nearby areas, according to SM Prime.
The development is part of Riverpark, a master-planned mixed-use community that will also include residential areas, a commercial business district and a transport hub, the company said.
SM Prime, one of the largest mall operators in Southeast Asia, has been expanding its footprint in provinces surrounding Metro Manila as urban development spreads into areas such as Cavite. General Trias, a rapidly urbanizing city south of Manila, has seen a rise in residential and commercial projects in recent years as it draws businesses and residents from the capital region.
