A tricycle driver from Rosario, Cavite, has been lauded online after he returned a wallet left behind by a passenger on May 31, 2024.
The honest tricycle driver, identified as Allan Abanilla Aprao, is a resident of Brgy. Bagbag-I.
The wallet, which was left in his tricycle, contained P5,500 in cash, an ATM card, a GCash card, company ID, PRC ID, and a prescription.
It was later found out that the wallet belonged to a Registered Nurse named Kristine Abueg, a resident of Brgy. Julugan, Tanza, Cavite.
Upon discovering the wallet, Aprao immediately contacted the local barangay, which led to the owner being contacted and the wallet returned.
According to Abueg, the money in the wallet was intended for purchasing medication, and she expressed her deep gratitude for its return.
“I knew the real owner would be looking for it, so I really had to return it. It’s not mine, so I should return it,” said Aprao in Tagalog.
“To my fellow tricycle drivers, I know we all have the same goal in life for our passengers. Let’s continue to give them good stories. Let’s return anything they accidentally leave in our tricycles,” he added.
