2 High-Value Individuals Arrested, P387,600 Worth of Shabu Seized in Cabuyao Drug Bust
In a pre-dawn operation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Unit of Cabuyao Component City Police Station, two high-value individuals (HVI) were apprehended for possession of shabu with an estimated street value of PhP 387,600. The incident occurred at 4:45 AM on May 30, 2024, in Barangay Mamatid, Cabuyao City, Laguna.
The suspects, known by their aliases “Cristopher” (39, from Barangay Mamatid, Cabuyao, Laguna) and “Bongbong” (37, from Barangay Looc, Calamba City), were both listed as HVIs under the Cabuyao CCPS Drug Watchlist.
During the operation, authorities confiscated seven plastic sachets containing approximately 57 grams of suspected shabu. The seized drugs have a standard market value of PhP 387,600. Additionally, two motorcycles, a cellular phone, drug bust money, and other drug-related paraphernalia were also taken into custody.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated evidence have been transported to Cabuyao CCPS for drug testing and laboratory examination at the Regional Forensic Unit 4A.
PBGEN Paul Kenneth T Lucas emphasized the unwavering commitment of the PNP CALABARZON office in combating illegal drugs despite the challenges they face. He stated, “Our police force will tirelessly fulfill our mandate to serve and protect every citizen of CALABARZON, especially against the detrimental effects of illicit drugs.”
Meanwhile, a criminal complaint is being prepared against the suspects for violating Section 5 and 11, Article II of RA 9165, commonly known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
