Buntis Congress 2024 Celebrates Pregnant Women in General Trias

General Trias, Cavite – The Buntis Congress 2024, a program that aims to promote the health and well-being of pregnant women, was held at the General Trias Convention Center on March 5, 2023. The event was part of the celebration of the National Women’s Month.

Around 180 pregnant women from different barangays of General Trias attended the event, which featured a contest for the most beautiful pregnant woman, lectures on safe motherhood from OB-Gyne residents from GEAMH, and Philhealth benefits from Ma’am Aleli Ramento.

The attendees also received pregnancy kits, free services such as laboratory tests, HIV, syphilis, and Hepa-B screening from the City of General Trias Social Hygiene Clinic, OB-Gyne consultation from the Phil Obstetric and Gynecological Society, and ultrasound. Mayor Jon-Jon Ferrer, Vice-Mayor Jonas Porto Labuguen, and Sangguniang Panlunsod members also gave gifts to the pregnant women.

The program was made possible by the support of the General Trias City Officials led by Mayor Luis A. Ferrer IV, Cong Ony Ferrer, Vice-Mayor Jonas Labuguen, and the members of the Sangguniang Panlunsod, along with the President of PCW Ma’am Anne Ferrer, NKGT President Ma’am Aisha Columna, staff of the City Health Office – General Trias, Cavite headed by City Health Officer II Dr. Jonathan Porto Luseco, MNCHN Program Coordinator Analiza Legazpi, staff, BHWs, and the GSO and ICT.

The theme of the event was “Babae Ka, Di basta babae lang! Healthy Nanay, Healthy Pamilya!” which translates to “You are a woman, not just any woman! Healthy mother, healthy family!” The event aimed to empower pregnant women and raise awareness on the importance of maternal and child health.
