KAWIT, Cavite – A suspected drug personality was arrested by the Kawit Municipal Police Station in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Balsahan-Bisita on Friday.

The suspect, identified only as alias “Apiong”, was caught selling one sachet of shabu, or crystal meth, to an undercover police officer around 1:10 a.m., according to a press release from the police station.

The operation was conducted by the Drugs Enforcement Unit and Intelligence Operatives of the Kawit police, under the supervision of PLTCOL Richard D. Corpuz, ACOP, and in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 4A.

The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and brought to the police station for proper documentation and disposition.

He will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The Kawit police said they will continue their campaign against all forms of criminality and urged the public to stay away from illegal drugs.
