The Office of the Provincial Public Employment Service Manager (PESM) and the Office of the Provincial Tourism Officer (PTO) are conducting a survey to determine the trainings needed for Caviteño overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who wish to return to their home province and engage in tourism-related activities.

The survey is part of the Balik Bayani sa Turismo program of the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), which aims to provide livelihood opportunities and skills development for OFWs who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and other crises.

According to PESM head Maria Lourdes Panganiban, the survey will help them identify the specific needs and preferences of the OFWs, such as the type of tourism enterprise they want to establish, the skills they need to acquire, and the challenges they face in reintegrating to their communities.

She added that the survey will also serve as a basis for designing and implementing appropriate trainings and interventions for the OFWs, in partnership with the DOT, DMW, and other stakeholders.

Panganiban said that the survey is open to all Caviteño OFWs, regardless of their current status, who are interested in availing of the Balik Bayani sa Turismo program.

She encouraged the OFWs to answer the survey through this link: https://bit.ly/TNA-Reintegration

The survey will run until February 15, 2024.

Panganiban also assured the OFWs that their personal information will be treated with utmost confidentiality and will only be used for the purposes of the program.

She said that the PESM and the PTO are committed to supporting the OFWs in their reintegration process and helping them become productive and successful tourism entrepreneurs in their own province.
