CAVITE — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has reminded the public that prices of basic commodities across Cavite remain frozen following the province’s declaration of a state of calamity due to the impact of the southwest monsoon and typhoons Luis and Maymay.

Goods covered by the price freeze include sardines, milk, coffee, bread, instant noodles, bottled water, iodized salt, detergent, laundry soap and candles.

Prices of basic necessities at supermarkets and grocery stores will remain at current levels for 60 days from the calamity declaration, in accordance with Republic Act 7581, or the Price Act, DTI Cavite said.

The agency urged consumers and retailers to comply with the price freeze and avoid any unauthorized price increases.

Cavite was placed under a state of calamity on Aug. 11, 2026 due to the effects of the southwest monsoon and recent typhoons.
