Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla said his office’s prediction that the Sandiganbayan would allow former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. to post bail appears to be materializing, citing signs that steps were being taken to approve the request.
“We predicted this to happen,” Remulla said, adding that it appeared efforts were underway to secure a grant of bail for Revilla.
Remulla said he would meet with the Supreme Court soon, saying a “whole-of-government approach” was needed to resolve issues surrounding flood control project cases.
Revilla was temporarily released on July 31, 2026 after posting ₱1 million bail in a malversation case linked to an alleged ₱92.8 million “ghost” flood control project in Bulacan.
