Pax Silica AI hub eyed to generate jobs for Cavite, other provinces; project to require major water supply
The planned Pax Silica Industrial Hub in New Clark City is expected to generate jobs and investment for Filipinos, including residents of Cavite province, once the project is completed, according to government officials.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., in his State of the Nation Address, said the AI-focused hub would strengthen the country’s artificial intelligence, semiconductor and advanced manufacturing industries. The Bases Conversion and Development Authority said the project could attract $40 billion to $70 billion in investment and generate up to 190,000 jobs nationwide, with employment opportunities expected to extend to workers from Cavite and other provinces near the industrial corridor.
Because the hub will focus on semiconductor and high-tech manufacturing, officials said it will require a substantial water supply, making adequate water infrastructure essential to supporting its operations going forward.
