GENERAL TRIAS, Philippines — A potential road rage incident along the Barangay Sabang to Open Canal Road was quickly defused by two jail officers from the General Trias City Jail Female Dormitory.
Jail Officer 1 Melvin Dumandan and Jail Officer 1 Benjie Placambo were returning from a meeting when they encountered a heated argument between a tricycle driver and another motorist. Without hesitation, they intervened and calmly spoke to both parties to de-escalate the situation.
Through their composed approach, professionalism and sense of duty, the officers successfully eased the tension and prevented possible violence. Their presence and proper intervention restored order, and no one was injured or harmed.
The two parties later parted ways peacefully, bringing a safe and orderly end to the incident.
The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology said the incident demonstrates the continued dedication of its personnel to maintaining peace and order at any time and in any situation.
