General Trias City, Cavite – Three high-value drug suspects were arrested and P680,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tapia, General Trias City, Cavite, on Tuesday night, police said.
The Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit Cavite PPO and General Trias Component City Police Station conducted the operation in Purok 1, Barangay Tapia, around 9:30 p.m., according to PCOL Eleuterio Ricardo Jr., provincial director of Cavite PPO.
The suspects were identified by their aliases as Ana, 43, Abegail, 18, and Angelou, 29. Ana and Abegail are residents of Barangay Tapia, while Angelou is from San Mateo, Rizal.
Police said the suspects sold shabu to an undercover agent who posed as a buyer. They were immediately arrested and found in possession of two knot-tied plastic bags and four sachets of suspected shabu, weighing about 100 grams, a medium-sized pouch, a cellphone, and the marked money used in the transaction.
The suspects are now under the custody of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit – Cavite PPO for further investigation and filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The seized illegal drugs will be submitted to the Cavite Provincial Forensic Unit for examination.
PBGEN Paul Kenneth Lucas, regional director of PRO CALABARZON, lauded the successful operation and praised the Cavite police for their relentless efforts in fighting illegal drugs in the province.
Col. Ricardo also urged the public to support the Philippine National Police’s campaign against criminality and illegal drugs. “Let us work together and continue our intensified campaign against criminality in our province,” he said in a statement.
