SILANG, Cavite — The municipality of Silang has been ranked 12th among the most competitive first- to second-class municipalities in the Philippines, according to the latest assessment by the Department of Trade and Industry, in partnership with the Creative Cities and Municipalities Congress and USAID in 2024.
The ranking, which covers 1st and 2nd class municipalities nationwide, evaluates local government units based on five pillars: economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, resiliency, and innovation.
Silang placed ahead of fellow Cavite municipality Tanza, which landed at No. 14, and trailed Marilao, Bulacan at No. 11. The top spots were claimed by Cainta and Taytay, both from Rizal province.
The recognition reflects Silang’s growing stature as one of Cavite’s most economically active municipalities, driven in part by its expanding residential and commercial developments along the CALAX corridor.
