SILANG, Cavite — The Silang Municipal Police Station denied Wednesday allegations circulating on social media that officers blocked Mayor Atty. Alston Kevin Anarna’s group from participating in a Feb. 2, 2026 grand parade.
In a statement released Feb. 4, 2026, the police station said no one was prevented from joining the event.
Officers on duty followed standard security and crowd management protocols to ensure public safety and order, according to the statement.
Police said they were assigned to manage parade security and that Anarna’s group was not initially listed among registered participants by organizers. Officers informed the group of this, police said.
The group was allowed to proceed after explaining they were invited by the Barangay Captain of Barangay Tubuan 3, a registered parade participant, police said.
The police station said all actions were aimed at maintaining security and order and were not politically motivated.
“Our duty is to ensure the safety of every citizen of Silang, regardless of their beliefs or affiliations,” the statement said.
