The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group has received more than 40 tips about the possible whereabouts of businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang since launching a manhunt for him, with most leads pointing to properties in Cavite and nearby provinces.

CIDG-National Capital Region chief Col. John Guiagui said most tips indicate game farms and properties linked to Ang’s friends and associates in Cavite, Batangas and Laguna, all of which police have already investigated.

Tips have also come from other areas nationwide, but no confirmed sightings have been made.

Some information suggests Ang may have fled abroad, but the CIDG insists it is continuing and intensifying its search within the Philippines until he is arrested.

“As long as there is no confirmed report that he is in another country, our operation continues,” Guiagui said.

All PNP units and other agencies are coordinating for Ang’s immediate arrest.

Ang, 64, is a businessman known for his past connections to illegal gambling operations and high-profile political figures.

He previously faced charges related to illegal gambling in the early 2000s and has been linked to various gaming and entertainment ventures.

He served as a consultant to the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation during the administration of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
