TAGAYTAY, Cavite — City authorities have banned several vehicle types from using the Tagaytay Flyover under a directive aimed at maintaining order and safety on major thoroughfares.

The Tagaytay Office of Public Safety prohibits trucks, buses, tricycles, bicycles and e-bikes from the flyover. Officials said the restriction prevents potential accidents on the structure, where vehicles travel at higher speeds and require smoother traffic flow.

The city government also cited the flyover’s structural capacity, saying it is suited only for vehicles capable of handling steep, continuous traffic flow. Slow or heavy vehicles could cause congestion and endanger motorists, passengers and pedestrians, according to authorities.

TOPS personnel and other law enforcement units are stationed at the flyover to monitor compliance and assist drivers. Violators face fines and penalties under city ordinances and regulations.

Affected motorists are urged to use alternative routes and follow traffic signs posted around the flyover. Officials advised the public to remain vigilant, practice discipline and allow extra travel time to avoid delays.

The city government has called on all motorists to cooperate with authorities in enforcing traffic laws, emphasizing that road safety is everyone’s responsibility.
