DMW Offers Free Legal Aid to Victims of Illegal Recruiter Arrested in Laguna

MANILA — The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has pledged free legal assistance to individuals victimized by an alleged illegal recruiter arrested during an entrapment operation in Laguna on May 30, 2025.

The suspect, identified as Ynice Mojica Hugo, was apprehended after reportedly receiving money from a victim.

Hugo allegedly posed as a recruiter for a licensed agency and promised non-existent job opportunities in Taiwan with a monthly salary of P79,000, according to the DMW.

The agency urged other possible victims to come forward and assured continued coordination with law enforcement to combat illegal recruitment.
