The number of dengue cases in Cavite province has risen to 10,119 since January, according to data from the Cavite Provincial Health Office released on Saturday.
The province has recorded 43 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease this year, a significant increase from the five fatalities reported in 2023, said Dr. Nelson Soriano, Cavite Provincial Health Officer.
Imus City has the highest number of cases with 1,532, followed by Bacoor with 1,500, General Trias with 1,183, Dasmarinas City with 1,101, Trece Martires City with 904, and Tanza with 847.
Men are disproportionately affected, accounting for 53 percent of the cases, with 5,345 males infected.
Dasmarinas City was recently declared under a state of calamity due to the dengue outbreak.
