Alfonso Mayor Files CoC on First Day of Filing

ALFONSO, Cavite — Incumbent Alfonso, Cavite Mayor Randy Salamat formally filed his certificate of candidacy on the first day of filing, officials said.

Before submitting his paperwork, Salamat attended a simple thanksgiving mass, which was also attended by barangay officials from the town of Alfonso. He then proceeded to the covered court, where his supporters were waiting to give him a warm welcome.

If elected, this would be Salamat’s third term as mayor. As of this report, he remains unopposed in the upcoming election.

Salamat described his first two terms as a period of laying the groundwork for the benefit of his constituents, while his upcoming third and final term would be a “time of harvest.”
