A Canadian national involved in international drug trafficking was arrested by the police in Tagaytay City before the weekend.
The suspect was identified as Thomas Gordon O’Quinn, who goes by the alias “James Toby Martin”.
The operation was set up by personnel from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Intelligence Division, Police Regional Office 4A (PRO4A), and Tagaytay City Police Station at a spa in Brgy. Maitim II, in partnership with the Fugitive Search Unit of the Bureau of Immigration. The foreigner was a target of the Interpol Red Notice (File No. 2018/29998).
Various IDs with different names, electronic devices, and various narcotics were confiscated in the operation.
According to the NCRPO, the Canadian national is allegedly connected to the interception of 1.4 tons of shabu worth over P9-B in Alitagtag, Batangas last April.
This is an indication that the suspect’s criminal network in the illegal drug trade is extensive, authorities said.
Multiple cases have been filed against the Canadian national, including violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and Article 178 (Using Fictitious Name and Concealing True Name) under the Revised Penal Code.
