JOLLIBEE OPENS NEW BRANCH IN MARAGONDON, CAVITE
MARAGONDON, Cavite — Jollibee is set to open a new branch in the town of Maragondon on Saturday, bringing the Philippine fast-food chain’s first location to the area and creating jobs for residents of Maragondon and neighboring towns, including Ternate.
The opening, scheduled for June 27, 2026 will include promotional offers and freebies for customers. Residents from surrounding communities said the new branch had long been anticipated, with many locals from Ternate among those hired for the new outlet.
BACKGROUND
Jollibee Foods Corporation is the Philippines’ largest fast-food company and one of Asia’s most recognizable restaurant brands. Founded in 1978 by Tony Tan Caktiong in Quezon City, the chain has grown to more than 1,700 locations across the Philippines and over 3,000 outlets worldwide, including stores in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, and parts of Asia.
Known for its signature Chickenjoy fried chicken, Jolly Spaghetti, and Yumburger, Jollibee has long been regarded as a cultural institution in the Philippines, often outperforming global rivals such as McDonald’s in domestic market share. The company has expanded aggressively through international acquisitions, including the purchase of American chains Smashburger and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
The opening of a Jollibee branch in a municipality is often seen as a marker of economic growth and increased commercial activity, particularly in areas previously underserved by major food service chains.
