BACOOR CITY, Cavite — Authorities arrested a known drug personality Sunday morning in a buy-bust operation that yielded ecstasy tablets and methamphetamine with a combined street value of more than P219,000 pesos.
The operation, conducted at approximately 10:20 a.m., was a joint effort by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s Quezon Provincial Office, PDEA Regional Office IV-A Special Enforcement Team 1, and the Cavite Maritime Police.
The suspect, identified only by his alias “Ernie,” 39, unemployed, is a resident of Barangay Tunasan, Muntinlupa City.
Operatives said a poseur-buyer negotiated a drug transaction with the suspect, who was immediately surrounded by authorities after completing the deal.
Agents recovered 109 blue ecstasy tablets valued at P185,300 pesos and five grams of shabu worth P34,000 pesos. Also seized were an Android mobile phone, a digital weighing scale, and the marked money used in the transaction.
The suspect faces charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
